Grab a warm tasty beverage and tuck in...

2008
Once upon a time there was a young women that worked at a bank. She lived with her baby boy and they were two peas in a pod.
Then one bleak day, the R key went out on her laptop. She'd noticed that one of her customers at the bank fixed computers and she reached out. She thought he was very cute so they talked back and forth a bit over MySpace. The very cute customer brought her a USB plug in roll up keyboard (that he had laying around) to borrow until she could afford to get her R key fixed. Little did she know that the very cute customer had a secret. He liked her and knew she wouldn't be able to afford his computer services anytime soon, so he purchased the keyboard new because he wanted to help her out.
They talked more and became good friends in no time. The young mom and a few coworkers secretly started asking the cute customer questions until they found out that he was an amazing young man. The two started dating and instantly fell in love...
2009
Before they knew it, the young couple were happily married surrounded by loved ones, that June. Not too long after in August, they were blessed with a beautiful baby boy.

2010
They were so happy and excited to be parents, they thought they would add another! They quickly realized they were out growing their starter home and decided to move to a bigger house.
2011
After moving, they were blessed with a spring baby girl! They enjoyed a sweaty summer thinking about gardening on all the new land they had acquired. They learned about eating whole foods and how toxic their household products were. That fall they swept through their home and removed all the toxins and replaced they with safer ingredients. Even their own homemade items.

2012
That summer they learned how to grow a few vegetables and continued on their healing journey. Late summer they found out they were expecting their last child! The baby was a surprise.
2013
That spring they were blessed with another beautiful baby girl! Their first homebirth! Their family was complete.

2014
Or so they thought.... much to everyone's surprise, their vasectomy had failed and they were blessed with another beautiful baby girl that fall. Their second homebirth.
Spring marked their first adventure with chickens. They built a cute little chicken coop and raised 30 chickens.
This year also brought unique business adventures. Their first home business was born where they sold extra products they were making for their family, with clean ingredients. They spent their weekends vending around the state of Michigan sharing their love of their new found life.
2015
In an effort to become more sustainable, they expanded their gardening endeavors. Their chicken coop couldn't hold anymore chickens, so they decided on meat rabbits.
Unfortunately, that year they found out that because they were within city limits, they were extremely limited on farming options.
They decided it was time to leave the city.

2016
Early in the year they found a beautiful piece of property in Dansville, Michigan. It was about an hour from everything and everyone they knew. It was scary, but in order to grow and change they knew it had to be done.
July 1st they officially signed the papers to their first homestead. They were so excited that everything seemed to be falling into place.
Late summer they found out that their 2nd vasectomy had failed and they were expecting another child.
Complications arose with the contractor on their new house and they still weren't moved in.
2017
Early that year they were finally able to move into their home. It was bittersweet. Many lessons had been learned and they'd wished they'd done the work themselves.
Over the course of moving they'd lost many friends and support was very limited, with so many young children to take care of, Homesteading took a backseat.
They welcomed their 6th child, a fat little baby boy that spring. Feeling confident after bringing 5 other babies into this world, they opted for an unassisted childbirth. Everything went as it should. And the sweet little baby brought such love and joy during what felt like a very challenging time of life.

2018 - Present
As our children got older, it became easier to move forward with our homesteading plans. They also took interest in certain projects. We experimented with Permaculture, raised bed gardening, orcharding, building additions, growing enough food to make an impact. We taught ourselves how to can food, preserve via dehydrating, freezing and fermenting. We learned herbal medicines, foraging and landscaping. How to grow and butcher poultry. How to butcher venison and beef. How to connect to the Earth and live with her.
Our values over the the years have and always will be to live and eat as healthy as we can. If we can't grow it, we try to buy local or organic. We use the best ingredients we can in all of our products. As with anything in life we choose to keep things balanced and indulge, every now and again. Having fun and enjoying life is the goal!
We live a very tight knitted life, enjoying each others company over many interests. We have our children to enjoy them, so we homeschool and play as much as we can. We love to kayak and spend a lot of time learning about higher consciousness concepts, including zodiac astrology.
At the end of 2024 we decided to bring back our trusted products that we use in our home, for sale. Our children are figuring out their own ways to be entrepreneurs and you will see their items from time-to-time, as well.
2025 marks a wonderful year for growth for us. We want to give those the opportunity that can't farm to still eat meat where they know what it was fed, how it was raised and that it was thanked upon dispatch. We hope to bring back community within our own definition, because whatever is going on out 'there' isn't working. We hope you'll be apart of our crazy story!
Love,
The Woodruffs
